Attorney Mervate Mohammad graduated with Cume Laude and Honors from Loyola University of Chicago with a Bachelors Degree in History and Political Science and a double minor in Islamic World Studies and International Studies. Mervate earned her Juris Doctor Degree at the John Marshall Law School, is licensed to practice in Illinois and has earned her Federal General Bar admission to the Northern District of Illinois Supreme Court.

Stephanie Gilbert, Esq.
Stephanie Gilbert has always wanted to work as a lawyer helping out her community. Stephanie has worked towards this goal long before law school by serving as the Membership and Public Relations executive in the University of Illinois Pre-Law Club. Stephanie went on to graduate from the University of Illinois in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, giving her a unique ability to empathize with her clients with the goal of minimizing the trauma of divorce and child custody proceedings. Stephanie went on to earn her Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in 2016.
Before joining Kiswani Law, Stephanie worked as a law clerk for various private law firms and the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office, focusing on family law and commercial litigation, throughout her undergraduate and law school studies.
Stephanie is a member of the American Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, and Phi Alpha Delta: Story Chapter.
After graduating from DePaul University College of Law, Stephanie took the Illinois bar exam and was sworn in to practice law in the State of Illinois in November 2016. Stephanie then took the Indiana bar exam and was sworn in to practice law in the State of Indiana in May of 2017. Maria Conversa has always taken an interest in the world of law. From her early involvement on the debate team in high school, she has learned to appreciate the art of formal argument. She continues her studies in Political Science and Communications at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is currently working towards her Bachelor’s Degree. She is currently involved in Phi Mu Fraternity, Phi Sigma Theta Honor Society, Students for Environmental Concerns, and the Student Senate at the U of I. She has aspirations of attending Law School and has a keen interest in Environmental Law & Policy. Working at Kiswani Law has been a great experience for Maria as an undergraduate student, and has allowed her to be introduced to the world of Family law. Maria will be graduating from the University of Illinois with her Bachelors Degree in May of 2019, and plans on attending Law School in the Fall of 2019.
