Farizma Ali

Senior Law Clerk

Farizma Ali joined Kiswani Law, P.C. as a Senior Law Clerk shortly after graduating from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctorate.

Prior to that, she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with a Minor in Sociology and a Certificate in Criminology from Northern Illinois University. 

Farizma believes diversity and inclusion are integral to creating equal representation in the legal community. This is exemplified by her active participation and leadership in affinity associations such as the Bangladeshi Student Organization Association, and the Muslim Law Society during her time at Northern Illinois University and the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. Additionally, her formative upbringing in Texas and Bangladesh has further enhanced her world view and fueled her strive for change through leadership and advocacy.

During her time at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, she worked as a Graduate Research Assistant for the University of Chicago School of Law Fair Housing Legal Support Center and the Illinois Department of Human Rights. This role facilitated the publication of the guidebook on crime-free housing for local government and municipalities in Illinois. She also actively volunteered at the Union League Boys and Girls Club where she assisted middle-school aged minors affected by truancy and disciplinary matters, using Restorative Justice practices. Farizma also externed for the Honorable Judge Mark Lopez in the Cook County Circuit Court Domestic Relations Division, during which she first discovered her passion for Family Law.

As a Senior Law Clerk, Farizma drafts pleadings, manages discovery, and assists the Kiswani Attorneys in handling all aspects of domestic relations proceedings. She understands that divorce and parentage matters can be complex and emotionally taxing for the entire family. Farizma tackles every case with a client forward approach prioritizing each client's unique circumstance while helping them navigate the complexities of their case with the compassion, integrity and dignity that they are entitled to. 

Farizma is an avid foodie and during her free time she likes to explore various restaurants, speakeasies and cafes that offer unique and diverse cuisine. Farizma is bilingual and fluent in spoken Bangla. She enjoys learning new languages and is able to converse in Hindi and Urdu as well. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends and loves traveling to new destinations and immersing herself in the history and culture.
